VPN-Connection wit Cisco Anyconnect-Client

Here's how to make a VPN connection with the Anyconnect client.

1. Installation

Log in with the TUM ID and the TUM password on the LRZ LRZ-Downloadseite (only German Version, please try to use the translate plugin in your browser) and select download and install Anyconnect for your operating system.

2. Connect with VPN

Windows 7 and higher version

Open the Cisco Anyconnect client and write the cluster address asa-clucter.lrz.de in the area that appears in the image and click Connect.

After that, a new window will open. There enter the LRZ ID (e.g. lr89rbg) and the LRZ password and click on OK.

After this step, a closed lock appears in the lower right corner of the Annyconnect symbol and the connection is established.

Mac OS X

Open the Annyconnect-Client program and enter the cluster address asa-cluster.lrz.de. Then click on Connect.

In the newly opened window enter the LRZ-ID (e.g. lr89rbg) and the LRZ-password and click on OK.

When the connection is established, a closed lock can be seen in the top right corner of the Anyconnect icon.

2.3. Linux

Download the file to local and you have to change directory to the location of the created file using terminal.

$ cd /[your directory]/anyconnect-linux64-*/ 

After that list all the files here and you should see following folders

$ ls
dart nvm posture vpn

Then navigate to the directory named vpn and execute the vpn_install.sh script with sudo

$ sudo ./vpn_install.sh

Accept the License when it prompted.

Finally you could launch your Cisco Client from your desktop.You should click on the Icon of anyconect.

After that giving the url of the lrz like in the picture.

Click on connect and you will be linked to a window where you could input your LRZ ID (e.g. lr89rbg) and password.

After that you are connected to the server.
